If you donate online to Sumner Lifeboat Institution, we will collect personal information from you, including information about your:
- name
- contact information
- donations to us.
We collect your personal information in order to:
- record your donation for financial record keeping
- acknowledge to you personally the financial contribution you make to Sumner Lifeboat Institution Inc
- inform you about the activities of Sumner Lifeboat Institution and how donations help us save lives at sea.
Some information we request from you is optional. However if you choose not to enter your name and email address, we’ll be unable to process online donations from you.
We do not directly collect or retain your credit card information. We use a third party payment provider to carry out credit card transactions for online donations into our account. The provider is a PCI DSS Level 1 Service Provider, meaning they adhere to payment card industry standards for security and process over 6million card transactions per year.
We hold your personal records in a secure format with only authorised persons able to access it.
You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong.
