Take a look at our Callouts & Rescues page – we have updated it with the latest stats and details of major callouts in 2025.

This year has had fewer callouts but they have been more serious, with several lives saved and sadly one drowning.

When we reviewed our yearly stats we were surprised to find that last year we saved more lives than any other Coastguard unit, and this year we have already exceeded that count. It’s very satisfying to see the many hours of training pay off when there is an emergency.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers, who collectively put in around 5,000 hours per year to help saves lives on the water. They are all locals, on call 24×7 to respond to emergencies at sea.
